COTSWOLDS TRAVEL : TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF HIRE

  1. The Hirer is the person named on the booking confirmation.
  2. Cotswolds Travel will negotiate the price and payment terms for your travel with us when we have a full understanding of your requirement confirmed through our email correspondence. We do not have the facility to accept payment by card. Payment must be made by bank transfer before travel or by cash on the day of travel.
  3. The Hirer is responsible for the conduct of all passengers.
  4. The Hirer must ensure that all passengers are ready for collection at agreed times and places. Cotswolds Travel will use its best endeavours to arrive at the Hirer’s destination and pick-up point punctually but will not be liable for late arrival or cancellation due to circumstances beyond its control. In the event of unforeseen delay Cotswolds Travel will, if possible, contact the hirer by telephone.
  5. Cotswolds Travel reserves the right to invoice additional charges for costs incurred due to variations from the schedule set down in the booking confirmation.
  6. The Hirer must ensure that notification has been given to Cotswolds Travel of any special or unusual luggage or other effects being carried so that Cotswolds Travel may ensure a suitable vehicle is provided. Examples of such items include but are not limited to skis, golf clubs and musical instruments. The driver may refuse to transport passengers and luggage if the vehicle were to become overloaded because of items not notified to Cotswolds Travel.
  7. Cotswolds Travel reserves the right to invoice additional charges to the Hirer where any losses, repairs, replacements or valeting costs resulting from damage to or fouling of the vehicle are caused by the Hirer or other passengers and losses in this instance may include loss of earnings by the driver and Cotswolds Travel.
  8. The booking may be terminated if the Hirer or any one passenger causes excessive delays, is profoundly under the influence of alcohol or drugs, is disorderly, in the driver’s judgement is unfit to travel, or refuses to wear a seat-belt, and Cotswolds Travel reserves the right to invoice the full charge notified on the booking confirmation if the booking is terminated in any such circumstances.
  9. Smoking is not permitted in the vehicle.
  10. In general, except as follows with regards to a snack lunch, food and drink may not be consumed in the vehicle but may be allowed with the driver’s explicit permission. On one-day tours, where time is of the essence, at lunchtime you may eat snacks and drink water and/or non-alcoholic drinks in the car, thereby saving time and enabling you to see more of the Cotswolds, but Clause 7 above will be applied if you create a mess that incurs a cleaning cost. However, if you would prefer to take lunch in a local pub or restaurant then that is your prerogative.
  11. Cotswolds Travel will not tolerate violence, foul language, intimidation, antagonism or any other form of antisocial behaviour towards the driver or any member of staff and reserves the right to involve the police in any such circumstances and to immediately terminate the hire, and termination in such circumstances will render the Hirer liable for the full hire charge.
  12. Cotswolds Travel undertakes to keep your personal information completely private, to use it only for the purposes of arranging travel with you and never to provide it to any unrelated third parties.
